From the Nurse's Office

Parents,

Please be advised that head lice was detected and reported to my office this morning. All of the necessary measures were taken at home as well in school regarding this matter. Please be alert to the warning signs that your child may have lice. Current evidence does not support school wide screening for decreasing the incidence of head lice in schools. Informational materials are available on the Center for Disease Control's website- www.cdc.gov/lice. I also have informative brochures in my office. While head lice are often seen in warmer climates, outbreaks can occur at any time with a 20-22 day incubation period.
